Program Information

2019-2020 Program Information

  • Our teams play will play in the Cobb County Junior Basketball Conference (CCJBC) and the Collegiate Prep Winter League at Kings Ridge.  CCJBC teams are the top 11 – 12 players selected from our tryouts.  The Collegiate Prep teams are the next 11 – 12 players selected from the tryouts.  This process allows us to keep 22 – 24 players per grade / per group (boys and girls) affiliated with the Cambridge Feeder Basketball program.  Grade levels eligible for CCJBC are 6th - 8th (boys and girls).  Grades eligible for Collegiate Prep are 5t– 8th(boys and girls).
  • All CCJBC games are typically on Saturday AND Sundays.  We try to schedule in the AM, but it is school dependent.  Collegiate Prep teams will only compete on Sundays (usually in the afternoons and evenings).  The CCJBC teams will play roughly 10 league games and 3 – 4 non-league games.  The Collegiate Prep teams will play 10 league games.
  • Both teams will also be eligible to participate in tournaments over the Thanksgiving Break and Winter Break.  Both teams will also be eligible to participate in tournaments at the end of the season (1st week of February for Collegiate Prep and 2nd to 3rd week in February for CCJBC).  Games run from mid-November to end of January.  Practices start in late September / early October.
  • Teams will have 2-3 practices per week.  Based on feedback from the surveys from last year, we have been coordinating (since May) gym space to minimize commute time; standardize locations; and have younger age groups be home sooner.  This is a very lengthy process, but we are making progress.

Requirements To Participate:

  • Participants must reside at an address zoned for Cambridge High School.
  • Program fee: $450.  The program fee covers uniforms, gym space, referee fees, and insurance.  Payment plan option is available.  Only credit card payments are accepted.  No player will be allowed to play in the first game until all fees are paid.
  • Documentation: copy of player's birth certificate, copy of report card showing home address, copy of major home utility bill showing home address are all required for league certification.

A mandatory Parent / Player Meeting for all selected players will take place in October.  Uniform sizing, meeting of the coaches, and document collection will occur.
